We’ve seen this week how actions can be as important as words, when a non-contact play fight turned into a full-on domestic assault – making a reality show the talk of the nation.
I wonder how the PR team behind Roxanne Pallett – self-dubbed ‘the most hated woman in Britain right now’ – is feeling this morning, following her ludicrous claim she was “repeatedly punched in the ribs” by co-star Ryan Thomas.
Probably the last thing they expected, after seeing her agree to a staggering fee to join the Big Brother house – and now it’s doubtful whether she’ll actually get her hands on any of it – and indeed, work again, following further claims of fake violence against past co-workers.

How she can go from saying she was domestically assaulted and accusing Ryan of repeatedly lying, to being “completely wrong” can only be the result of being shown what the nation saw on camera – and being left with no choice but to offer a rather an awkward apology on the Jeremy Vine show.
I don’t think i’m alone in thinking that there would have been no apology made if she hadn’t been banged to rights, thanks to the house surveillance.
Broadcast regulator Ofcom received over 11,000 complaints after the footage quashed her claims.
But at last, the pantomime witch has finally been put to shame by BB host Emma Willis – the only TV presenter to give her a proper grilling so far.
However, even in the BB interview, when Willis asked if she believed her own story, Pallett said she did – truly alarming behaviour.
Roxanne had previously been slammed by 21 of her Emmerdale co-stars following punchgate.
And even now, it doesn’t seem like Ryan is going to have his formal warning from Big Brother revoked.
The whole thing makes a complete mockery of the #metoo movement and everyone who has suffered at the hands of domestic abuse.
An estimated 1.2 million women experienced domestic abuse in the year ending March 2017, according to ONS 2017.
